Chesters Charges on the Final Day to Clinch the Competition
Ashley Chesters from Hawkstone Park came from 6 shots behind after round 2 to claim the competition.
Chesters carded magnificent rounds of 64 & 66, a total of 10 under par on the final day, to see off his nearest competitor Steven McGlynn from Blackburn.
McGlynn was the halfway leader by 2 shots and kept his nerve on the final day with respectable rounds of 68 & 71. However this effort only gained him the runner up spot behind Chesters.
The presentation was held on the putting green in front of the historic 19th century gothic clubhouse. Many players, spectators and members attended including club captain Paul Turner who thanked all of the organisers and volunteers for their hard work and support towards the successful competition.
Lee Westwood's mother Trish Westwood and Keepmoat Director Eugene Jaruga kindly presented the worthy winner with The Keepmoat ~ Lee Westwood Trophy.
