Players get an immediate feel to the rolling parkland nature of the course with this pretty downhill hole with a straight fairway lined either side by trees. There is a lovely mature willow on the left of the fairway which as well as looking majestic, can impede your approach to the long, narrow green that’s guarded by bunkers left and right.
“A nice friendly start to your round which looks tighter than it really is. Bigger hitters might take an iron or rescue club to avoid getting stuck behind the willow. A front flag position can yield a birdie but back left is tough to get near. Conservative middle of green is always a good move.”
